Antwerp

St. Leo Original Pigments — 7 city collections · 100 colours · 4 finishes

Colour — its emotional, psychological, cultural, and aesthetic force — sits at the centre of Original Pigments. Developed over two years with the Copenhagen design studio All The Way To Paris, beginning from hand-painted watercolour and gouache colour chips, the 100 shades are mixed from organic liquid pigments and the finest titanium dioxide in a water-based, solvent-free formula that combines superior coverage with low VOC — a healthier choice for the spaces we live in.

ANTWERP

In the sixteenth century, Antwerp stood at the centre of European trade and culture — a history still legible in the city's fabric: Rubens and the Antwerp school of painting, the carved stonework of Flemish Gothic churches, the ornament of Baroque façades, and the modernist restraint of Le Corbusier's Huis Guiette. Layered across fashion, art, and architecture, Antwerp carries a coolness entirely its own.

The Antwerp collection reflects the city's particular northern light and its weight of artistic history, in a palette that is composed, precise, and steeped in depth.

13 Colours

Osylei
Osylei carries a faint creamy warmth that lifts a room. A very pale eggshell balanced between sand, white, and grey, it gives a highly adaptable, neutral wall coverage suited to homes, offices, retail, and hospitality spaces alike.

Zonnebloem
Zonnebloem takes its name from Antwerp's Art Nouveau "House of the Sunflower." Mixed from equal parts red and blue with a touch of green pigment, it forms a grey that shifts and comes alive with the light. Adaptable and classic, Zonnebloem suits nearly any space, timeless by nature.

Koornmarkt
A balanced sandstone tone, Koornmarkt takes its cue from the brick walls of the historic lane winding through Antwerp's Koornmarkt. Carefully blended pigments bring in subtle notes of green and yellow, lending interiors a fresh, quiet air.

Grote
Grote draws on the gilded Renaissance façades of Antwerp's market square. With a faint red undertone, it brings a natural, warm, sandy atmosphere indoors — a beguiling nude, at once calming and uplifting.

Zuid
Zuid, with its peachy undertone, is very pale and soft, bringing brightness and a delicate warmth into a room. Carefully balanced red and yellow pigments blend into an understated but beguiling colour, shifting gently with the light, always to pleasant effect.

Middelheim
Middelheim sits between reserved and sweet, a warm rose with a grey undercurrent. The balance of red, blue, and grey pigment gives Middelheim a faintly moody mauve, catching a soft pink glow in the light.

Leopold
Leopold is defined by a natural, unrefined quality and a warm red-brown tone, for a comfortable, intimate atmosphere. It shifts through a range of colour registers as the light changes — animated, never flat — and suits almost any interior.

Vleeshuis
Vleeshuis carries a moody character with a warm core. This animated neutral wraps a room in intimacy; carefully balanced pigments let Vleeshuis shift from a faint red-brown to grey depending on the light.

Opera
Opera takes its name from the Antwerp Opera House. This soft grey-green, mixed from equal parts yellow and blue, strikes a balanced note. Its fine tone leans faintly toward grey, adding a sense of calm and harmony to any room.

Botaniek
Botaniek sits midway between sage green and grey, bringing balance and a natural mood indoors. Named for Antwerp's Den Botaniek herb garden, its carefully blended pigments give the colour a subtle, transitional quality — understated, classic, and never dated.

Moretus
Moretus is a deep midnight tone, near black, with a faint shimmer of blue and green beneath the surface. This ink-like colour takes its name from Antwerp's oldest printing house, the Plantin-Moretus, and brings a sense of being held by the night — bold and full of presence.

Linkeroever
This pale blue draws on the modernist urban planning vision of Le Corbusier. Linkeroever echoes the high-rises and green surroundings of the district it's named for, its soft, fine tone bringing a sense of space, freshness, and nature.

Guiette
This rich blue takes its cue from Huis Guiette, Le Corbusier's modernist house in Antwerp. A classic colour with a vivid blue tone, it brings boldness to an interior while calming the senses — its depth lending a sense of enclosure.

ST. LEO × ALL THE WAY TO PARIS

To develop the 100 colours of Original Pigments, St. Leo invited the Copenhagen design studio All The Way To Paris to collaborate. Led by Tanja Vibe and Petra Olsson Gendt, the process began with hand-painted watercolour and gouache colour chips — intuitive, organic, and partly left to chance. Over two years, in close dialogue with the St. Leo team, hundreds of hand-painted samples were gradually narrowed and refined into a spectrum of 100 colours spanning seven cities.

All The Way To Paris is a Copenhagen-based design studio founded by Tanja Vibe and Petra Olsson Gendt, working across branding, print, typography, and spatial design — known within Nordic design circles for its depth of understanding of colour.
