Athens
7 city collections · 100 colours · 4 finishes
Colour — its emotional, psychological, cultural, and aesthetic force — sits at the centre of Original Pigments. Developed over two years with the Copenhagen design studio All The Way To Paris, beginning from hand-painted watercolour and gouache colour chips, the 100 shades are mixed from organic liquid pigments and the finest titanium dioxide in a water-based, solvent-free formula that combines superior coverage with low VOC — a healthier choice for the spaces we live in.
ATHENS
The Acropolis, the colonnades of the Stoics, sea routes reaching out to the Mediterranean islands — Athens is the first shape of Western civilisation. To step into this city is to step into layers of time: ancient ruins standing alongside daily life, marble carrying the particular patina of a thousand years under Mediterranean sun.
The Athens collection is built on a base of limestone white, tracing the weathered spectrum of marble citadels, temples, and sculpture through time, set against the bold, vivid paintwork of the city's façades. It's a palette that holds both stillness and tension at once.
14 Colours
Tritsis
Tritsis's soft tone draws on the translucent surface of the lake at Athens's Tritsis Park. This versatile pastel sits between pale blue and cool grey, bringing freshness and calm into an interior.
Aegean
Like the Aegean Sea itself, this pale blue brings a cool, refreshing air. Mixed from red and black pigment, it takes on a soft tone with a faint grey undertone. Applied to a surface, Aegean sets a calm backdrop for daily life.
Taverna
This colour's charm draws on the blue doors, shutters, and chairs of the classic Athenian taverna. Moving between lilac and slate blue, it's built from blue-to-black pigment balanced with a touch of red for subtle warmth. Used indoors, the soft tone of Taverna carries whoever lives with it into something like a Greek pastoral idyll.
Lycabettus
Lycabettus is a forested peak, and Athens's highest point. Taking its cue from the interplay of green hillside and blue Mediterranean sky, Lycabettus's pastel tone moves from a soft warm green into a lime touched with yellow. It brings calm into a room, and a sense of connection to the natural world.
Areos
Areos's mid-tone teal green reflects the lush greenery of Athens's Pedion tou Areos park. This deep green, softened with a grey undertone, brings the feeling of a cool oasis indoors, carrying nature's presence into a room.
Kerameikos
Kerameikos takes its name from Athens's ancient potters' quarter and archaeological site. The tone recalls the black-figure pottery style — a deep colour with a cool blue undertone, moving gently between black and dark grey.
Plaka
Plaka is a classic beige with a subtle yellow cast, warming under sunlight. Drawn from the lively Plaka neighbourhood in Athens and its many yellow-façaded buildings, this colour brings a soft, inviting mood into a room.
Syntagma
Syntagma's colour profile — like the Athens square it takes its name from — moves with the light, weaving between sand, caramel, and tan. Syntagma brings a warm, natural texture, a classic and timeless choice for any interior.
Attica
Attica's rusty brown tone shares its name with the ancient Greek region. Earthy in character, it reflects the dry heat and terrain of the land itself. Attica's warm base, mixed with red and black pigment, strikes a tone that is both balanced and bold.
Zappeion
Zappeion is a deep, saturated red with a warm core. It takes its name from the neoclassical building of the same name, whose central courtyard alternates white marble colonnades with red-painted walls. Zappeion brings vitality into a room with its vivid, bold colour.
Kapnikarea
Kapnikarea is a rich reddish-brown, named for the Byzantine church of the same name, with its terracotta roof tiles and vivid mosaics and frescoes. This mid-tone colour is bright and faintly earthy, mixed with careful precision from red and yellow pigment over a fine black base.
Acropolis
Acropolis is a neutral tone, between beige and grey. This soft, stone-like colour is drawn from the ancient citadel itself, whose grand limestone and marble structures, weathered by time, reveal a purely mineral expression.
Agora
This warm grey tone is drawn from the marble columns and statuary of the ancient Athenian marketplace, the Agora. Carrying a subtle purple cast, it translates a classical architectural element into an atmospheric wall colour, suited to any interior.
Filopappou
Filopappou is a dark grey with a warm undertone. Its smoky quality recalls the fine stonework of the Church of Agios Dimitrios Loumbardiaris on Athens's Filopappou Hill. Mineral in character, Filopappou brings a compelling, bold presence into a room.

ST. LEO × ALL THE WAY TO PARIS

To develop the 100 colours of Original Pigments, St. Leo invited the Copenhagen design studio All The Way To Paris to collaborate. Led by Tanja Vibe and Petra Olsson Gendt, the process began with hand-painted watercolour and gouache colour chips — intuitive, organic, and partly left to chance. Over two years, in close dialogue with the St. Leo team, hundreds of hand-painted samples were gradually narrowed and refined into a spectrum of 100 colours spanning seven cities.
All The Way To Paris is a Copenhagen-based design studio founded by Tanja Vibe and Petra Olsson Gendt, working across branding, print, typography, and spatial design — known within Nordic design circles for its depth of understanding of colour.
