Topcoat Five Protective Finish

After Dolomite Plaster has been applied, we recommend two coats of St. Leo Topcoat Five. A water-based protective coating, it strengthens the plaster surface against impact, scratching, and moisture, and makes it easy to wipe clean. It deepens the colour slightly and raises the sheen to Gloss 4, without disturbing the original texture. Coverage is approximately 8 m² per litre; two coats recommended.

Application steps

1. Confirm the plaster is fully dry, then remove surface dust with a lint-free cloth or soft brush
2. Pour Topcoat Five into a clean container and stir with a wooden stick for 1–2 minutes
3. Using a short-pile roller or wide brush, apply a thin, even first coat from floor to ceiling; cut in corners with a small brush, and wipe drips with a soft cloth while still wet
4. Let the first coat dry for 2–3 hours, then repeat the process for the second coat
5. After the second coat dries for 4–6 hours, remove any tape and rinse tools immediately with water
6. Allow the surface to cure for 5–7 days before returning it to daily use

Q: Is the protective finish necessary?

A: Topcoat Five is an optional add-on — a dust-repelling, protective clear finish that extends the life of the wall, adds hardness, and gives the surface an extra layer of protection against dust, with the ability to wipe away splashes immediately. If applying in a bathroom, choose a dry, well-separated area away from direct water exposure.
