Copenhagen

St. Leo Original Pigments — a 7-city series · 100 colours · 4 finishes

Colour — with all its emotional, psychological, cultural, and aesthetic force — sits at the heart of Original Pigments. Developed over two years with the Copenhagen design studio All The Way To Paris, the collection began as hand-painted watercolour and gouache swatches. Its 100 colours are formulated from organic liquid pigments and the highest-grade titanium dioxide, in a water-based, solvent-free formula that pairs excellent coverage with low VOC — a healthier choice for the spaces we live in.

COPENHAGEN

Design intelligence, craft heritage, and quiet confidence — Copenhagen has built its aesthetic language from these. Cycle through the city and natural material textures are everywhere: pure architectural volumes, minimalist modernist furniture, abstract paintings left unexplained on the wall.

The Copenhagen colour series inherits this understated, considered sensibility — quiet neutrals as a base, with deep yellows, greens, and reds placed with precision, like a deliberate pause in the city's streetscape.

16 Colours

Herluf Trolles Gade – Stone White
A calming colour between warm white and light grey, offering a timeless backdrop for any interior. Herluf Trolles Gade takes its name from a historic Copenhagen street — home to Nyhavn, the Royal Danish Theatre, and the canals — reflecting the street's iconic Baroque stonework.

Strandgade
A neutral shade that envelops a room in its delicate aura, sitting between white and light grey. Strandgade takes its cue from the monochrome interiors of Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershøi — a classic, light tone that forms a soft backdrop to daily life, its faintly cool cast calming the atmosphere.

Frederiksgade
In homage to the Rococo stonework of Copenhagen's largest dome, Frederiksgade is a light slate grey, a classic choice for any interior. Cool in tone and balanced in character, it takes on a faint blue-green cast depending on the light.

Olufsvej
Soft and subtle, Olufsvej casts a room in pale blue, recalling the painted row houses on the Copenhagen street of the same name. Pastel in tone, its grey base grounds the blue pigment in a cool elegance.

Magstræde – Brick Brown
A natural, warm brown with a subtle red undertone, Magstræde evokes the timber beams and brickwork of Copenhagen's classic row houses. Named for one of the city's oldest streets, it brings depth and character to a room without becoming visually dominant — well suited to dining and retail spaces.

Ancoats – Industrial Green
A classic green, deep and rich in character, yet simple, honest, and true to its roots. Developed with the architecture studio YOUTH, Ancoats is inspired by the industrial dark-green paintwork found on buildings across the Manchester neighbourhood of the same name.

Sundkrogsgade – Mineral Beige
A sandy tone with a faint golden base, Sundkrogsgade carries a constant warmth, its surface shifting between subtle peach and bright cream as the light changes. Sundkrogsgade is also a street in northern Copenhagen, home to St. Leo's own headquarters, and it pairs beautifully with blues and greens.

Nyboder
Nyboder's warm gold tone draws its inspiration from the historic Copenhagen neighbourhood of the same name, lined with painted row houses. A mid-toned, vivid, energetic colour, its sunny profile brings instant life to an interior.

Bredgade – Honey Beige
A honey-toned shade inspired by the sunlit façades of the historic buildings lining this Copenhagen street. Bredgade shifts from soft beige to radiant yellow, bringing a warm, uplifting glow to any interior surface.

Gammel Strand – Dusty Rose
Spanning dusty rose to salmon for a warm yet earthy appearance, Gammel Strand takes its name from a heritage street in central Copenhagen, lined with colourful 18th- and 19th-century houses.

Prinsessegade – Terracotta
A gentle, umber tone reminiscent of classic brick and clay buildings, carrying a deep connection to natural materials. Prinsessegade elevates a room to a sensory experience, bringing the qualities of nature indoors and filling the space with warmth and elegance.

Thorvaldsens
A deep brown enhanced with red undertones, inspired by the colours at Bertel Thorvaldsen's Neoclassical sculpture museum — a shade that imbues a space with richness, artistry, and drama.

Århusgade – Burgundy
A rich burgundy, this bold colour celebrates the industrial Neo-Baroque brick buildings of Copenhagen's Nordhavn district, bridging exterior and interior, past and present. It envelops a room in deep red, adding warmth and personality — especially suited to hotel and commercial spaces.

Krystalgade – Rose Grey
Spanning grey, brown, and rose, Krystalgade shifts with the light. Named for a historic Copenhagen street known for its varied architecture, this earthy tone brings warmth and subtle character to walls and ceilings in residential or commercial interiors alike.

Admiralgade – Noble Blue
Inspired by the atmosphere of Copenhagen's old town in autumn, Admiralgade is a soft blue-grey with hints of blue-green. This quiet, refined grey captures the street's historic mood and brings a subtle nobility to any interior.

Amalienborg
Inspired by the tiled roofs of the Amalienborg royal residences, this black shade adds character and sophistication to a room. Composed of rich black and blue pigments, Amalienborg carries an underlying coolness that softens what would otherwise be a bold, dark hue.

ST. LEO × ALL THE WAY TO PARIS

To develop the 100 colours of Original Pigments, St. Leo invited the Copenhagen design studio All The Way To Paris to collaborate. Led by Tanja Vibe and Petra Olsson Gendt, the process began with hand-painted watercolour and gouache swatches — intuitive, organic, partly left to chance. Over two years, through close dialogue with the St. Leo team, hundreds of hand-painted samples were gradually narrowed and refined into a single spectrum of 100 colours spanning seven cities.

All The Way To Paris is a Copenhagen-based design studio founded by Tanja Vibe and Petra Olsson Gendt, known across the Nordic design world for its work in branding, print, typography, and spatial design, and for its deep understanding of colour.
